BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan – U1 University (President Jung Hyun-yong) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Bishkek State Music and Pedagogical University on April 6 (local time), marking a significant step in its initiative to attract international students from Central Asia.

The U1 University delegation, led by President Jung Hyun-yong and including International Exchange Director Shin Seok-ho and Professor Lee Woong-seop, visited the Kyrgyz institution to finalize the agreement with President Mambetakunov Ulanbek Esenovich. The two universities discussed practical measures to expand cooperation, focusing on student and faculty exchanges, the selection of high-caliber international students, and the implementation of Korean language education.

The Bishkek State Music and Pedagogical University expressed particular interest in collaborating in the fields of Early Childhood Education and Sports, showing a strong intent to adopt South Korean educational systems. Following the signing ceremony, an admissions briefing was held, where local students showed enthusiastic interest, asking detailed questions about the study abroad process and available majors.

"This agreement serves as a pivotal turning point for our university to expand its global education network by partnering with a key educational hub in Central Asia," said President Jung Hyun-yong. "We will concentrate all our resources on fostering creative global talents who will lead the future of both South Korea and Kyrgyzstan by combining the tangible and intangible educational assets of our two institutions."

Following the MOU, the delegation continued its recruitment efforts by visiting "iTop Edu," a study abroad agency based in Bishkek. There, they held an additional admissions briefing for local agency officials and prospective students to strengthen the foundation for local recruitment.

Moving forward, U1 University plans to gradually expand its cooperation through language training programs, undergraduate recruitment, and academic and cultural exchanges to further solidify its global educational network.
