BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan – U1 University, led by President Jung Hyun-yong, is accelerating the expansion of its global educational network by bolstering cooperation with key universities and diplomatic missions in Kyrgyzstan.

On the 7th, U1 University officials visited the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Kyrgyzstan to hold a meeting with embassy staff. The discussions focused on revitalizing educational exchanges between the two nations and streamlining visa issuance and entry procedures for international students. During the meeting, the university introduced its specialized recruitment strategy for international students based on the Chungbuk RISE (Regional Innovation System & Education) project, outlining its vision for strengthening international competitiveness through regional win-win models.

An embassy official remarked, “We hope this initiative becomes a practical model where international student recruitment goes beyond mere enrollment and leads to successful post-entry management and long-term regional settlement.”

In response, President Jung Hyun-yong stated, “We are committed to establishing a systematic management system for international students to ensure they can settle stably and contribute to the local community.”

Following the embassy visit, U1 University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Salymbekov University in Bishkek, further solidifying its foundation for academic and educational cooperation in Central Asia. President Esengeldi Zhumadilov of Salymbekov University noted, “This agreement will serve as a significant milestone in enhancing our students’ global competencies,” expressing high expectations for linked degree programs and expanded collaboration across various academic fields.

Additionally, the university held an admissions information session for local vocational college students, which garnered significant interest. The delegation also visited “Gyeongbuk Hakdang,” a prominent Korean language educational institution in Bishkek, to discuss further collaborative efforts with local officials.

Through this series of strategic engagements, U1 University has significantly strengthened its international cooperation network, successfully bridging the private, public, and academic sectors.
