International students from U1 University participated in the "Dokdo Exploration Program" organized by the Dokdo Foundation, from September 16 to 18, 2026. The three-day program offered students an opportunity to explore Ulleungdo and Dokdo while experiencing Korea's history, culture, and natural environment firsthand.

The program aimed to introduce international students to the historical significance and natural value of Dokdo while promoting a deeper understanding of Korea through educational activities and cultural experiences.

During the trip, students visited several historical and cultural sites on Ulleungdo, including the Dokdo Museum, Ulleung Haedam Trail (Dodong Coastal Walking Trail), Ulleungdo-Dokdo Ocean Science Station, An Yong-bok Memorial Hall, and Dokdo Volunteer Defense Force Memorial Hall.

At the Ulleungdo-Dokdo Ocean Science Station, students explored the Marine Ecology Exhibition Hall and attended a special lecture on Dokdo, gaining insights into the marine ecosystem surrounding Dokdo, its natural environment, and its historical and geographical significance. Visits to the An Yong-bok Memorial Hall and Dokdo Volunteer Defense Force Memorial Hall also provided opportunities to learn about historical figures and efforts to protect Dokdo.

On September 18, the final day of the program, students visited the eastern dock of Dokdo, where they experienced the island's natural scenery firsthand. They also participated in group photo sessions and a Dokdo-themed performance to commemorate their visit.

The field trip provided international students with a valuable opportunity to deepen their understanding of Korean history and culture through educational activities and experiences beyond the classroom.
